Dice on a Checker

Albert --
Fair enough statements -- as have been any number of statements by Dorn, Joe, Neil, Frank, Rich, and myself. I've never been accused of lacking candor nor being politically correct. Here I sat on it as long as I could and finally responded most candidly based on my observations.
A vocal few have campaigned unchecked against a rule they've likely never bothered to try. A vocal few made all sorts of statements about the Board, various Board members, and others. Respect and courtesy must be a two-way street.
My statement was meant as a bit of a rejoinder toward those vocal opponents. We have laid out a program of experimentation and transition throughout 2017 -- I don't know what else they could want. It is a rule, based on my actual experience, that takes but minutes for anyone to implement and become comfortable with.
Again, we all, in the US and beyond, must compromise and work together toward a common rule set. Everyone has to give.
To a couple of your specific suggestions: I, for one, do not like different rules for different events, skill levels, etc. I think we should work toward one common, universally applicable rule set. Secondly, we've described a transition year. I think two years is excessive. The rule is very very simple.
Thank you for your input and interest.
