Here is the sketch of an algorithm that should be sufficient to gain the point that you gave gnu to play you from the initial illegal starting position of fifteen on the bar apiece: 1) bear in 2) establish an advanced point ...control the territory just short of it 3) fill in the territory just short of the advanced point with a few other points while getting your back men into play. Make an even more advanced point if the opportunity arises provided that you have control over the region just short of it. 4) ignore any advanced points that gnu makes if they are isolated from the rest of his army 5) Build a prime...i recommend a five pointer ...six is too inflexible for the next phase 6) throw blots in the way of gnus army WITHOUT HITTING 7) our goal is to take advantage of the greedy side of gnus nature...we want to be hit...not to hit ourselves 8) We typically will soon be fifty to seventy five pips down in the race...but gnus army is losing momentum...it is now very spacially localized...one or two points ..perhaps the thirteen or fourteen 9) keep throwing blots in the way of gnus stragglers 10) Oh..by the way...beaver any doubles that gnu gives you 11) Gnu now is on its last legs...stuck on one or two very heavily stacked points 12) break our prime from the front...the goal is now to build a board...the board should also be of the mouse trap variety...a prime...so it is nice to build the high points first if possible...it is not always possible 13) Hit and win...usually a gammon 14) Win the race...the seventy five pips will evaporate slowly..move by move..all of its numbers being initially killed.
