I agree, Michelle, on both the one set of dice rule and the die on a checker rule.

I've had numerous other players also tell me that the really telling aspect of the die on a checker rule is to get used to playing with the rule and then to have to revert to the old rule for a match or a tournament. They say that is when you really note the difference and the game seems so much slower.

The die on a checker rule was not used at the New York Metro, and that is their choice. However, I did watch some high stakes private matches at the tournament and the die on the checker rule was used -- it definitely speeds up the game.

Again, all we ask is that people try the rule before forming an opinion.
