Each participant plays until he has EITHER lost 3 times and is therefore eliminated - (first way of determining the winner)

OR (the second way apparently when both remaining players have already played between themselves) the only participant with fewer defeats wins the tournament

One does not need the second clause if it does not change the meaning of the sentence.

I do not care so much if I am champion of 13 Bulgarians where half the masters refused to play, I do not care so much if I play one or two matches in a clear situation. I do not care if they take out 50 euro out of my pocket and make me contest for them. I did contest in a similar situation - playing 7 matches altogether with Dorn for the title First Backgammon Champion of the USA. But it was clearly mentioned then and I had to beat A world champion and the one who won tournaments on 5 continents to be reborn and qualify for Dorn again.

Tell me what do TDs do when Neil is in a similar situation and is missing his flight - make him play 2 more matches?
