Take a 1 point match for simplicity.

If player 1 is say a 60% favorite at some point he will probably raise the stakes. If the other guy calls P1 will, on average, raise the stakes again next turn, ad infinitum.

I wouldn't be surprised if anything over 50% is a raise and fold. Maybe the math guys will have something to say about it.
