My Takeaway From This

In Response To: Backgammon to Nackgammon (Nack Ballard)

It is entirely possible that I have played as many games of Nackgammon as anyone. Back in 2000, I rolled out all Nackgammon opening rolls and responses. Unfortunately, I never considered how to play the six doublets (11 22 33 44 55 66) from the opening Nackgammon position.

My takeaway from Nack's post is that I had better study and learn how to play the doublets from the opening Nackgammon position, because sooner or later, if you play enough games of backgammon, and you and your opponent both play perfectly, you will reach the opening Nackgammon position and you will roll doubles. Could even happen two or more times in the same game. I have no doubt that Nack could show us the sequence of moves and plays of a game in which one player reaches the opening Nackgammon position six times, rolling a different doublet each time, with the cube staying in the center.
