The USBGF should continue that process simply because it is the right one, not because of the outcome of one vote. Members of an organization have the right to reject a proposal -- even one arrived upon by an open, deliberative process that involves member feedback -- without fear that they will have their future involvement curtailed as a result.

I don't take what Jeb said as a threat to do so, but I think this is an important point. I think that virtually all of us endorse the process, however we vote; an Accept vote should be cast only if we think the implementation of these proposed rules is, overall, in the best interests of backgammon, even if we disagree with a few of them.
