XG .mat file parse problem

Are you using M.Petch's python scripts to parse the xg file? Here's the link I have downloaded them about a year ago. http://vcs.capp-sysware.com/gitweb/?p=backgammon/xgdatatools.git
The text file parsed out from the XG file is so shockingly HUUUGE containing all sorts of useless stuff rollouts/ evaluations/everything. It's not unusual to contain more that 120K lines whereas the only ones needed to form a mat file would only be a few hundred.
OK so you have to clean that huge file. Still there are many weird things in that. From what I remember the "cannot move" was sometimes presented in the text file as "rolled 77" instead of the real roll. Again from my memory I think this was happening when the player was on bar and there was a closeup.
I think you should just add a few lines of code in your program to clean those weird things.
