Here are a couple ways to vary a position that one might want to look at:

Suppose an escape position is not as good, for example not at edge of prime.

Suppose a prime strength a but such as broken prime instead of solid prime.

Your regenerating idea won't do good at giving those. Is it that difficult to vary a position (excactly like one wants) to warrant automation?
