Whither Luck Ratings?

Okay -- I'd rather this thread not get off into the weeds on the balance between luck and skill in backgammon. That's boring, unless it's of interest, in which case do a search on past threads and read volumes on it.

I'm talking about live backgammon tournament results, where we are interested in seeing results. We might interested in various levels of information:

A) Who won? B) What was the Match Length and Score? C) What was the PR of each player over the course of the match? D) Who enjoyed the greater Luck Factor?

What I'm wondering is whether, and why people are interested in (D). Does (D) tell you something meaningful that isn't suggested in (A) + (B) + (C)?
