Ruling questions from Cyprus

Ah, the Paris PGT 2008 tournament! I remember it well because it is my biggest win yet.
The match with Bob was a Main Quarterfinal, tournament director was Eric Guedj.
I have to admit that previously Bob already stood up to stretch and walk around a couple of times. I felt it was poor etiquette doing so during the course of a game without asking permission to the opponent, but I let it go without saying anything (my bad). It was not a crucial part of the game, so I thought whatever.
It was a very intense match, and at that point a rather large crowd had gathered around the table.
When I redoubled to 4 at -3-3 my emotions were skyrocketing. When Bob stood up, I felt it was very disrepectful. Furthermore Philip Vischjager, who was approaching the table, seeing him standing up asked him something which might have been "Is it over?" or "Did you win?" or anything of that sort.
That really made me mad at the time.
After more than 10 years I am ready to say that I am sorry if my behaviour was inappropriate and was taken as angle shooting, it wasn't.
I still believe it shouldn't be allowed to stand up during a crucial decision of the match and (possibly) interact with bystanders. Standing up, while not wrong per se, can lead to a series of misunderstandings like the above.
Do you know any other board game where you would be allowed to stand up and interact with a past World Champion during the course of a game, even if it is just a nod?
