SSE version may explain

The Q9300 supports a new SSE instruction set called "SSE4". It is likely that in order to get the 12% improvement in speed (compared to the Q6700) that one must take advantage of SSE4. I'm guessing GNU-bg doesn't use SSE4 (yet). So probably just from a speed standpoint the Q6700 is going to be faster for now.
