I find this in the category: "when given the choice of making two good points, choose the one that is harder to make." After 13/7 it's going to be hard to make the 5-point. 5-1 is nearly the perfect roll to make the 5-point, leaving quite a few covers for the barpoint next turn if the blot lives.

If Steve's board were stronger my decision could go the other way. Here there is a decent chance to assemble a nice welcoming party in the cases where he hits.
