Well, making the comment is one thing. Actually requiring her to pay $10 was probably a bit over the top. Oh, but it was you.... Then she should have expected something like that.

I know you like to play every ABT event (that your work schedule allows, which seems to be EVERY ABT event except during peak forrest fire season). But it sounds to me like her banning you from her events could be a blessing for you. OTOH, I suspect she would reconsider if you apologize. Then again, I doubt you want to do that.

I agree 100% that a good staff is paramount. LV and Michigan come to mind as tournaments with great staffs, top to bottom (and all staff members matter). (There are others, so any TD's reading this -- don't be insulted. I just happen to really like those two staffs, year in and year out.)

Changing posted times in general is bad form. I can see it occasionally, but when it has to be done it should be with the consent of the players, or at the absolute minimum with the best interest of all affected players in mind, and certainly with proper warning which you apparently didn't get.

So my point: tournaments are subject to survival-of-the-fittest. Sounds like hers is at the bottom of the food chain. If you're annoyed at a tournament you're not going to be playing up to your potential so your expectation isn't going to be what it should be. Why suffer through the annoyance for that?
