I went to Dell's site. In their 'home' section they don't seem to have configurable systems. There the fastest processor I could find was the Q9400 (2.66 GHz, so slightly ~6% faster than the Q9300 of system #3). I didn't spend the time trying to find equivalent prebuilt systems but the prices look to be in the ballpark with HP and Gateway home systems.

Similar to HP, they have a business section. Here is about as close as I could get to system #1:

Dell Precision Worstation T5400 w/:

3.00 GHz quad core intel Xeon X5450. (This should be comparable to system #1's Q9650, except probably draws more power which can matter for a rollout heavy machine. I suspect at least 50W higher power draw by comparison.)

OS (same as system #1).

3 year "next day" warranty service (comparable to system #1, although maybe a bit slower on paper, maybe not in reality).

Graphics card (same as system #1).

2 GB 667 MHz ram (not as good as 3 GB of 800 MHz in system #1).

Very similar harddrive, optical drive, and monitor as system #1. Ditto keyboard, mouse, ethernet.

Cost: $2879. So you pay an extra $600 for about the same system as #1.
