I'll be there and definitely plan to participate. I look forward to your (Chuck's) preparation thoughts. I have already gotten feedback from one local championship-level player that "...I will cease coming to any tournaments." This said after his long time stand on disliking clocks --according to him, he plays fast and indeed in my weeklies where I have clocked several of his matches (due to being behind schedule to exit the restaurant in time) he has never been close to running out of time. But the clock was not a personal issue, rather it was a bracket schedule issue.

Those clock instances were the result of a portion of the bracket falling behind schedule. I have a printed chart of when each round of matches is to begin, when the points for a match get lowered to 5pts and when a clock becomes required in addition to the lower point total.

My weekly players are now accustomed to the clock guidelines and rarely quibble over their use at the beginning of a match or even into a match in progress. _____________patrick (the MFIC) email me if you would like to see the chart (an Excel spreadsheet) pgibsonmfic@roadrunner.com
