Keep the ball rolling. :)

I have some strong feelings about a couple things. I also communicated with CJC and she brought up some issues.

1) (mine, originally) everyone needs to be heard.

2) (CJC's) the panel should include representatives who are opposed to mandatory clocks.

3) (mine) half of the panel should be directors; half of the panel should non-directing players.

Sam would be a very good panelist, but he's a director so I'd count him among the four directors. Maybe a closed discussion is the right way to begin, so I don't object to that suggestion. The timing is tight because LV is one of the bigger (and more importantly, geographically broadest attended) tournaments. There is only one more ABT event -- LA. That's a good one but compared to LV I suspect it is more strongly regionally represented. LA could be the place where the public gets involved. Pitt is another possibility (with Rob's blessing). We wanted to get this hashed out before the new ABT year but maybe that's just too optimistic....

I do object the "way things have always been done" -- letting the directors decide and requiring the non-directing players to abide. We need the support of the majority of both sides.

CJC tells me that Bill Davis won't be attending this LV Ty, which is unfortunate.
