I always choose the opaque (precision, of course) dice when I have the option. I only bring the opaque ones in my own boards. Translucent ones are pretty, for sure, but I have a BG board that is handsome but virtually unplayable. It stays on the shelf. Beauty should only be carried so far.

BTW, there is a spectrum of translucent dice, I understand. Some are much easier to misread (e.g. the light lavender ones -- who picked THAT??) than others, for sure. The dark red are OK, for example.
