Thanks for everyone's suggestions. We used a screen image of Rybka 3 for the chess shot. We were going to use the 3-d board of Snowie for the BG shots but Frank's computer decided to do its Windows Update and that f'ing software hogged the CPU right when we wanted to do the BG shot. So I used GNU-bg (but I've never set up the 3-d version, so just 2d) and started playing a game. (They wanted some kind of action for a change.) If they actually show this game during the Showtime segment you should watch my plays. :) I didn't want to sit there and think a long time (like I usually do) so I was playing the first or second candidate that I saw. In one position I heard Frank in the background (watching the monitor) say "no, don't do that!" but it was too late. Could be multiWhopper on national TV. :) For all I know some of my other plays were bad, too, and I'm sure I'll hear about it here if this short sequence of moves makes it to TV.
Of course there are never any guarantees in the media until things actually make it to the airwaves/print. This segment was taped for Showtime's Inside the NFL which apparently airs on Wednesday night. (Maybe it's repeated -- I don't get Showtime -- a pay channel on US cable.) I'll post hear if/when we get the word of the date it will be aired.
