Catchup #4 - Picking on MCG

Stick: in a position with no skill left I say the weaker player should double any position which falls into the borderline category.
Point well taken, but you constructed a position with better distribution etc. etc. One of the doubles discussed the other day was made because the supposedly weaker player had his opponents 5 point, a 10 pip lead in the race and was on shake. It was 0-0/7, and anyone doubling that would be doing it purely on nervous energy nevermind that he only had a 1 point board and could not lose his market.
Also, this position might be altered to have a gap on the 4 point and an extra crossover or something that would fatally flaw the double, even against the bots, or the best player in the world.
Perhaps my spur of the moment example was poorly chosen?
The net, [negative], effects of doubling experts early is absolute, however. This position would be a blunder NOT to double. The negative effects of over anxiousness by the aspiring experts are both inumerable and dramatic, and a NEEDLESS sacrifice of equity to the dice gods. For reference: See Adambulldog's post on: Easy take, but is it a double?
