Clock Forum thoughts

The one thing that I think the forum lacked was a voice from the anti-clock movement. From what I understand, the people that attended are all in favor of implementing clocks.

I think this will be a slow process. It's nice to see some TD's adopting a "clocks insistable" if either player wishes to play with a clock and provides one. The masses will naturally be resistant to change. It would be good for the game to see clocks introduced at a grass-roots level in order to demonstrate to players who have never seen clocks that the fear of running out of time is not an issue in most (90%?) of matches.

Next time you play at your local club, bring your clock. Play all your games with the clock, but don't penalize your opponent for timing out. This will reduce some of the fear of clocks, IMHO, and demonstrate to more players that the clock is really not an issue that decides many matches.
