Interesting and insightful (some would say inciteful :) experiment. Conditions (very new player) are certainly extreme. (That's not a negative statement.)

When I first learned I had to think a considerable time just on the opening rolls. (Quiet, Stick, or no more whiskey for you.) Ditto the bearoff. So I wouldn't consider this result to be particularly alarming or unusual.
