Do Tournament Directors make too much money?

wow! Maybe you all can take one on yourself and see how it goes. Making big profits would be a nice goal once in awhile, but from my experience with 62 weekend events over the 27 years that I have directed them, is that I almost always make a profit but never like the numbers that Marv suggests.

I will, as Stick has asked in an email to me, create a list of the expenses that I have been experiencing for the last several years. After I pay off my staff, the hotel, food, and etc., I would be happy with a$1k-$2K profit. But it is not typically so.

I'd also like to see if any other directors are willing to make share list of expenses and share comments on profit potential.

And I disagree with "because it is the FIRST ONE, the rakes can be higher". If it was an inexperienced director (which Chiva is definitely not one), then perhaps a little wiggle room. But as a highly experience directer, now coming into the USA marketplace, appropriate player paybacks should be a GIVEN.
