Do Tournament Directors make too much money?

As far as the calcutta rake, most tournaments that I have seen donate the calcutta rake to a charity.

That's what I thought, too. But when I posted such here a few months back I was told this is not often the case. I do know that Bill's Midwest gives its Calcutta rake to the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago, and there are several other inducements during the weekend for players which lead to extra donations.
