Theft at Recent ABT Events

Unacceptable !! Thievery cannot be condoned, either by approval or lack of action. After reading the whole thread (38 or 48 entries, I got lost counting them), I for one (as a TD of ABT events), will definitely make an announcement at our Calcutta in June about losses and need to be observant.
Dice have long been an endangered species (at least to the owner's board) and even a rare disappearance of a cup or checker, but big-or-expensive items (boards, video equip, cameras, etc) are very rare. This explosion of losses requires us all to be very vigilant.
Glad to hear that Alan did get his gorgeous board back, but really sorry to hear of Rod's and Julius' losses. Coolrey and I have long mourned his "small-sized" digital camera disappearances.
Like Chuck, I too always pocket my dice when leaving my board at big events, for any length of time.
As far as outing the one known offender, or at least banning him (without outing him to other than the likely directors that would see him locally), it really is a must. But needs to be handled by that (or those) local director.
Since, per David, he does not travel to away events, that should be enough to get him "quashed" for the 12-24 months duration of the ban.
