Some rollout only the close plays that Gnu says they got wrong. If Gnu says they got it right by just a bit then no rollout.

I know this very well. I have recently spent a good part of 4 months (single) CPU time rolling out about half the plays from three matches. What you refer to is not a small effect -- it can lead to differences in SW error rates at the size of 1 or more.

However this apples to oranges error, although it adds to the variance, is not likely be seen since almost no one goes to the trouble of statsig RO's. Most just accept the straight 2-ply eval result.
