"If you're going to track error rates, it must be in aggregate -- not an average of averages, but by summing total EMG lost and dividing by total decisions. "

FWIW, I am pretty sure that this is exactly what Snowie does when producing statistics for average error rate over the last N matches. This would be a great feature for GNU or any other bot.
