Why is the error the difference between the "double now" equity and the "double never" equity? Shouldn't it be the difference between the "cube turned" equity and the "cube centered equity" (which assumes your ability to turn the cube later)? And in your trivial example, wouldn't both of these equities be identical?

This is how I understand the janowski paper. If you double you change the curve.

Wouldn't a (GNU) 2-ply cube analysis see the cube actions a roll later and give you the same thing as the rollout?

I did forget that Gnubg includes cube decisions in it's evaluation tree. BGB and AFAIK Snowie calculate cubeless equities and map the resulting values. You're right for this example. In others the values may slightly differ.

Nevertheless the valuable information for me is that I can't use the pure values, I have to look deeper either with a rollout or using cube decisions in the game tree....
