Richard: "if an email went out to all directors saying "hey, going forward can you please send the list of Open division entrants along with your results, otherwise people in your tournament won't qualify for Giants voting", I would bet the vast majority of directors would have no problem complying."

I think you may be in for quite a surprise. Are you a betting man? Go ahead and send this email to all of the major tournament directors in the ABT and I will be you $100 that the following will happen:

a) some will not respond at all; b) at least 2 will disagree with the idea and refuse to comply; c) at least 2 will tell you that it is extra work and difficult for them to do

I think you may be a little naive about who you are dealing with.....the ABT Directors are all fine, dedicated, honest and conscientious people who I respect highly, but don't expect a reasonable response to a request that is new, different, or not their own idea. (Again, not all of them, but enough of them for me to win my bet.)
