Is that the question? Then the answer the obvious. The fair thing to do is to stick to the rules. I thought the question was whether a case could be made for cutting them some slack.

Perry:

What would I do if I were Matt? Matt asks as to what is "fair". The word can be defined as to what is reasonable and impartial or defined as done according to the rules. The definition I would look to would be what is reasonable and impartial.

I am talking about "fair" as what would be reasonable, impartial, equitable, just, or something along those lines. Obviously I (& everyone else) know what the rules are, and the rules are that the play stands.
