What is the point of making a special rule, or any rule, if the thinking is that all rules are flexible and don't necessarily apply anyway? As for the specific rule you recommend, the problem is that if a player misses the hit there is likely to be a groan, face, or comment that might well alert him to his mistake and cause him to change his mind$

I see no point in making any rule in any game or match, "friendly" or otherwise, unless the rule is upheld.

As for the idea of a "friendly" chouette, at what point does the chou become "unfriendly"? Is it at $10 a point? $15? $25?

At what point in a tournament do you allow an opponent to make an illegal play or move? First round? Finals? If you do this for a "friend" does that mean that someone you are not friends with gets treated differently?
