Legal plays

It is a very simple and consistent position based on the belief that the rules of backgammon should ALWAYS be followed - not just when it is to your advantage:
1. Always make plays as required by the rules of backgammon.
2. If you do that and lift your dice, you're done (as per the rules of backgammon).
3. If you don't do that, see step 1.
The current rules of backgammon contain a specific exceptional provision which allows condoning of an otherwise illegal play. For that reason, I have no problem letting an illegal play stand if "legal moves" has not been agreed to (since again, my consistent position is to always follow the rules in effect). However, us "legal moves" proponents simply believe that this provision should be removed. You will continue to disagree and you are entitled to your opinion.
