Legal plays

Greg: "However, they propose that if their opponent makes a bone-headed play and adds the additional error of making a play that doesn't match the dice rolled, they must be let off the hook and always allowed to correct their play."
This certainly is not my stance, and if you got that impression from a previous post of mine, then I most have stated it wrong. I will require my opponent to correct any illegal play, whether they match the dice or not, if I believe it is to my advantage to do so. I will not let him take back an illegal move just because he wants to or because he forgot to pick up the checker etc.
I expect my opponents to treat me in the same manner.
Now, if I sit down to the table and the match is being taped or recorded, I am happy to agree to play legal moves, and in that case, as in the chouette, I will make sure we make legal moves. If he doesn't pick up a checker that could only have been hit if the move was made legally, I will insist it be picked up whether it is to my advantage or not if I had agreed to legal moves.
