Controversy in the Chou

I remember a time where I was sitting in the box with a partner against 7 guys and them holding 4 cubes each. I turned the game back in our favor and was bringing the checkers home. I was attacking the single checkers and one particular play the hit was clear in home and it was very gammonish. I moved my checker, hit the man and in one sweep of my hand I picked up the dice first and put the checker on the bar.

All hell broke loose and the rules were quoted. I have to put the man on the bar and then pick up my dice. My partner and I argued the hit was clear, I picked up the checker intending to put it on the bar, but no matter what we said I violated the rule.

You know what happened next. the next roll of the dice the game changed fast and we were cubed out of the game.

At the end of the day the rules were the rules and I had to know better not to make such a foolish move.

I have never made that mistake in bg again. :))))
