Common Errors?

Good list David.
Regarding true killing of checkers, that tends to be more of a beginner's problem. However, I find that intermediates tend to make a more subtle kind of error: moving builders past their highest open homeboard point. For example, they have the 6 point and 4 point (5 point open) with opponent anchored on the 3 point. Having a 2 to play, how often do you see someone unstack the 6 point onto the 4 point, believing it is more flexible? It is usually wrong unless every other 2 on the board just sucks. Don't just try to keep checkers merely "in play", but try to keep them where they can all work to make the points you really want (or to attack opponents blots that move to those spots).
