Yes. The point isn't that this particular decision might be slightly incorrect, but that if GNU 4-ply is computing an equity that is way off, then it is probably misevaluating a lot of opening positions, enough perhaps that its opening play is systematically wrong enough to skew rollouts of opening rolls.
