In Response To: An ethics issue raised in Paris? (Marv Porten)

Amen Marv! I've been hoping to see something like this for a few years, especially when I was starting out as a TD. The only source of rulings that I have seen on a regular basis is Danny Kleinmann's occasional column in the ChicagoPoint. Frankly I don't agree with all of Danny's rulings, but he does provide a logical argument for his decisions in his columns.

I believe The United States Golf Association(USGA) and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews(R&A) who administer the rules for golf world-wide publish not only the official rules, but rulings to supplement the rules.

I believe that one of the goals of any "central" backgammon association should be to strive for uniformity in rulings. I've seen several discussions on this board regarding rules and prospective rule changes, but I've yet to find any collection of rulings. I will be happy to assist putting together such a collection, as I believe it will becme an invaluable tool for new TDs.
