We're not forming a new nation. (Well, maybe we are, but that's a separate issue.) Regarding the former North American British colony, starting about 1792 there were elections and since then the people have had a voice. US Rules in their present form have been around for at least 20 years. Is there still a reason for closed door revisions?

We all have principles and sometimes we let those dominate our thought process, going against pragmatism. People who know me well know that this one has been simmering inside of me for over 10 years. I'm not an advocate of throwing out the current rules and starting from scratch. I would just like assurance that the non-director players have a say in the process. That has not been the case recently.

I suspect if you asked King George III(?) if he thought the NA colonists had a reason to object to their situation he would have said they were be provided for satisfactorily. If I recall my history it was their lack of involvement "...no taxation without representation..." that precipitated (at least in part) the revolution.

I don't want a revolution, but I still want "the people" to be involved.
