SJ side pool snafu

I believe what you are proposing (in hindsight) is the following:
A) matches in the qualifying round (32 --> 16) have no sidepool involvement.
B) when the round of 16 is determined, but before the draw is made, each remaining player is given the option of entering the sidepool for $250.
C1) in the event that a qualifying player paid $250 before starting the qualifier and then lost that match, he would have the $250 returned.
C2) in the event that a qualifying player (such as MCG) chose not to enter the sidepool before the Q-round and won, he would be given a chance to enter the sidepool (for $250) before the round-of-16 draw.
C3) (this one is the least clear) in the event that a qualifying player entered the sidepool prior to the Q-round and then won that match, he would be given the option of having the $250 returned (and thus not enter the sidepool) or of "letting it ride".
There still may be (Q-round) hedging implications, but in the unlikely event of that I guess they're just stuck with the agreement, or with working it out.
