PJT (aside)

I have nothing against PJT, but I did play him a match one time in Vegas or someplace... He is a bright young man and very well respected by his countrymen, and ME for that matter.
He rolled a 65 and immediately hit, picked up and placed a faraway checker on the bar... I assumed it was a legal play. I rolled and played my number. He rolled and while he was considering his play I noticed that he had hit me illegally with the 65 on the turn before. I brought it to his attention and he said very quickly:
Oh, sorry! Very matter of fact. He subsequently beat me in the match.
Figuring I had condoned his illegal play and it was my own fault, I didn't ask for a ruling. I knew I would lose it even though I was right.
People can do that and try to get an edge. If it works fine, if the opponent is alert they just have to make a legal play. I had the utmost respect for PJT at that time, but afterwards I was suspicious. That's human nature.
