So I played Neil in the teams

While it's pretty clear this is not a double, I am learning more and more not to completely rely on the bots when it comes to deciding what is right for play against live human beings.
Again, I don't defend this particular double, but against a player like Neil, if you want to win, you've got to take some chances, you've got to give yourself an opportunity to get lucky, and if you think you can "grind it out" with him an win, you will usually be wrong.
We know that well-timed back games win a lot, but also get gammoned a lot, and I would be a lot quicker to pull the trigger against Neil in a position like that than if I was playing a mere mortal.
Also, I doubt that the typical reader here, looking coldly at a diagram, can remember how it feels to be sitting across the table from someone you know will play as well or better than the bots. Now you are winning and dozens of people are watching and the juices are flowing, and the next thing you know the cube is fyling. If you had gammoned him that game, it would still be a technically wrong cube, but some might have applauded you for your guts and for taking a great gamble.
