What Zurich meant was, there will be people staying home rather than braving the "enhanced" security procedures, regardless of whether they wanted to bring a clock.

For what it's worth, though, I noticed no extra hassle yesterday when I flew PWM-DTW-MKE. There was one (1) person ahead of me at the security gate midmorning.
