Explain this voluntary direct please

Also, it would be interesting to see what happens after you volunteer the shot on the 6 point (-.004, basically equal), and white rolls 51. Does it hit or not?

If it doesn't then you can be quite sure that it volunteers because it *wants* to be hit. If it does hit, then something else may be going on.
