Anyone know more about this backgammon champion?

Thanks, Jake. (You know the following, but others may not.) The Boyds (and their International Backgammon Association) conducted many east coast tournaments including some in NY each year from the mid-70's to the mid-80's (approximately). I thought it might have been one of those events that was being referenced. (If it really was 1982, I could look it up in Backgammon Guide if I wanted to spend the time leafing through them. They did a very poor job of recording the issue sequences of those -- I pretty much have to figure it out from looking at the dates of the results.)
