Doubling Sportmanship Question

Once in an unlimited game this happened to me, except my opponent was calling me names and insulting me throughout the whole game with no apparent reason why. End of the game looked something like this where I had two left and he had four or five left...so I slapped him with a double just to piss him off for sure. It worked and now I have his money and don't have to listen to him ever again.

In my case, he was trying to throw me off, especially before important plays, it's a tactic though not an efficient or nice one.
