Our posts "crossed," showing up just a minute apart, but you zeroed right in on the same point Robertie made about not making the 22pt with the idea of holding three points forever, but with the intent of switching to a 2-3 backgame when the time is right.

I still have concerns about Black's timing if White makes his bar point, but you seem to think he's in good shape. That judgment, I think, is what makes the difference in whether I hit or make the point. You may be right, but at this point in my understanding, I'm still hitting.
