I don't want to commit to something every day.

It may not be necessary. Say there are 5 on the DT. If the first 3 or 4 people respond with their vote, then it could very well be enough to call it, and then you just move on.

Occasionally, 4 people would vote, and there would be no decision. You either wait around for a day (it's not like we're in a hurry), or designate a 6th person to be the tiebreaker person.
