It's either running or covering for me. Blue's main worry is escaping his back checkers. He can't expect to carry out a full blitz or build a full prime with two checkers back and a bunch of checkers still back on the midpoint.

The argument for running is that even if Blue is hit, he should not have much trouble entering, and he won't be any worse off than he is now (two checkers back).

The argument for covering is that covering gives White 7 more dancing rolls, which gives Blue more time to catch up in the race. Since Blue is behind in the running game, should he really be running?

I'm not certain but I think I would run. White's prime is fairly strong and the downside of getting stuck on the ace point seems worse than the downside of getting hit.
