Nice and simple (now that someone else has worked it out :). A two standard deviation result, as you note, isn't particularly eye-opening, but a three s.d. would indicate more investigation is appropriate.

Not surprisingly, I prefer a scientific approach (including investigations like Stick's) over a "we've heard it all before...; end of story" response.
