Each tournament has the same entry fee.

I don't understand why you say that the system works better if the number of players in each event is the same.

Let's say the system is running for some time. Before the event, players are already sorted from lowest to highest BB, such as:

Carlo -0.88 Marco -0.76 Antonio -0.44 Andrea -0.21 Gianni 0 Filippo 0 Fausto 0 Luigi +0.12 Fabio +0.44 Florin +0.76

Evening starts. 28 players show up. 4 byes are available. Byes are assigned to Carlo, Marco, Antonio and Andrea. They get a BS for the evening of (28/16)-1 = +0.75. The other 24 players get a BS of (28/32)-1 = -0.125

Next week, BB will be updated and the same procedures will be followed.
